Because of licensing requirements with publishers and vendors, the Thompson Library is unable to extend remote access to anyone not currently affiliated with UM-Flint. However, other options are available:

  1. Michigan residents have access to a number of online resources through the Michigan eLibrary, many of which may be familiar to U-M Flint alumni.
  2. The Thompson Library has a guide to open access online resources.

Visitors to the Thompson Library can access most library online resources via the MGuest wireless network on their laptops.

Alumni can check out materials in the circulating collections and reserve study rooms with a community borrower's card. These cards are valid for one year, and can be purchased for:

  • $25 for UM alumni to borrow Flint materials only, or
  • $125 for UM alumni to borrow both Flint and Ann Arbor materials, and
  • $250 for the general public to borrow both Flint and Ann Arbor materials.
