We had to change the nature of our Kanopy subscription for budgetary reasons. Formerly, we had their entire DDA (Demand-Driven Acquisition) catalog activated, meaning that we were invoiced for films after they were watched a certain number of times. Our bill went up 166% from 2018-2019 and the amount has stabilized at that higher level.

In order to keep costs down, we activated all the documentary and educational content, but deactivated immediate access to feature films, which can often be accessed through subscriptions to or renting from personal streaming services (Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, Vudu, Apple, etc.).

We can still get any Kanopy film, we just have to pay for the non-DDA titles before accessing the content.

If you'd like to access any of the feature films, please fill out the form in Kanopy and our Electronic Resource Management Librarian will get in touch with you. Below is an example of the form that you'll see.
