Q. Are library materials safe to use?

We are confident that it is safe to use our library books and other materials, as long as proper safety protocols are followed. According to research, this is ample time for any COVID-19 viruses on the surface to die. The checkout process has been redesigned to avoid any unnecessary handling of books by library staff.

Please do not attempt to sterilize library materials yourself! It is unnecessary, and can result in expensive damage to books. For books, time is the best disinfectant.

As with anything else, it's best to observe hygienic practices and wash your hands after touching anything that others may have handled.
