A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique string of letters and numerals assigned to an online resource, which functions as part of a permanent URL to that resource. DOIs always start with 10.

Example: 10.2307/3162256

If you have a DOI (digital object identifier) for an article, but not a complete URL, add this string to the beginning of the DOI: https://libproxy.umflint.edu/login?url=https://doi.org/ This will give you a DOI that will work on or off campus:

https://libproxy.umflint.edu/login?url=https://doi.org/10.2307/3162256

N.B.: This will work only for resources to which the Thompson Library has access. For non-subscribed resources, you can, of course, use interlibrary loan. You can also visit the DOI link resolver at https://doi.org/ and enter the DOI to get a working URL. You will still need to add the proxy string if you're off campus.     [Check for free version]
